I AM

THE MIGHTY “I AM”

According to the Torah, the mighty “I AM” presence appeared to Moses on Mount Sinai in a burning bush. At that time, God asked Moses to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian slavery and to lead them to Canaan.’ Moses then asked God what to tell the children of Israel, when they asked who had sent him. God replied to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”

There are many parallels between Hinduism and Judaism. One of them is related to mantras. In the Hindu tradition, bija (seed) mantras are power sounds that are secret names of deities. Traditionally, yogis keep these names private and do not speak them aloud.

In the ancient Jewish scripture Kabbalah, the concentrated, primal point from which all creation springs is called “I AM.” This is the kether (crown), because it creates all things and links the manifest creation with the unmanifest absolute. Known as the primordial dot, the entire cosmos emanates from it. In the Hindu tradition, this dot is called bindu.

This primordial “I AM” is infinite creative power. Whenever you utter the mighty words “I AM,” you are invoking enormous cosmic currents of energy. Thus, these potent words will manifest whatever you say after them. For example, if you say “I AM unworthy,” then you will feel unworthy. If you say, “I AM happy,” then you will feel happy. The results of using the mighty words “I AM” take effect immediately.

Therefore, whenever you invoke the mighty “I AM” presence by say¬ing the words “I AM,” it is wise that, right after those words, you place something that you want to own.

Let us do an experiment now. First, take a moment to notice how you are feeling in mind and body. Then, say the following list of statements aloud slowly, with deep feeling:
¨ I AM happy.
¨ I AM fulfilled
¨ I AM worthy.
¨ I AM blessed.
¨ I AM loved.
¨ I AM healthy.
¨ I AM filled with divine light.
¨ I AM filled with divine love.
¨ I AM filled with divine grace.

Now notice how you are feeling. Do you feel lighter and more uplifted? Now say the following statements aloud slowly, with the same intensity of deep feeling as the previous statements:
¨ I AM sad.
¨ I AM lacking.
¨ I AM unworthy.
¨ I AM lost.
¨ I AM lonely.
¨ I AM unhealthy.
¨ I AM hateful.
¨ I AM resentful.
¨ I AM depressed.

How do you feel now? Do you immediately feel demoralized? Now return to the first list and speak the positive statements again. How do you feel now by invoking the mighty “I AM” presence with powerful, uplifting words?

Do you now realize what you are creating, moment by moment, through casual, thoughtless conversation? You are, in reality, perfect and unlimited. However, the filters of limiting beliefs create restrictions on your pure, stainless nature.
