Phrases of Inquiry, recognize the moods our mind.

Example:

  • Is there dread, in me?
  • Is there anger, in me?
  • Is there wanting, in me?

How to Practice with ‘Phrases of Inquiry’

  1. At the start of each day, check for the mood in the mind. Repeat as required.
  2. Stop & Drop- Stop the over-thinking by dropping more attention inside the body.
  3. Open & Inquire-Opening up the body gently with the in-breath to inquire, what is there?

Moods of Un-happiness:

  • Anxiety, Fear or Anger
  • Self-Pity or Selfishness
  • Dullness or Laziness
  • Anxious or Restless
  • Doubt or Confusion

Guide Lines:

  • What is the main mood in the mind?
  • Where can the mood be felt in the body?
  • Non-judgment, do not judge the mood as good or bad!
  • Interest, become interested in all of body, mind and spirit.
